Desire - Blanche DuBois

Desire - Blanche DuBois

If you dare to be a showstopper then you’ve reached the right place.

Blanche DuBois is one of the most iconic characters in theatre history. She is remembered today as tragic. At the start of her story, Blanche seemed to be a successful English teacher from the back home, visiting her sister while on leave. However, she was masking her troubled past. Blanche is living in a state of despair, having been forced out of her ancestral home of Belle Reve. Her family is gone, her reputation is tarnished, and she is struggling to make a living. Despite this, she maintains an air of sophistication and grace, clinging to the hope that she can start a new life in New Orleans.

Unfortunately, Blanche’s secret is short-lived. Her past eventually catches up with her, and she is forced to face the harsh realities of her life. She is betrayed by her sister Stella and falls into a deep depression.

Tennessee Williams’ play, Streetcar Named Desire, addresses sisterhood, alcoholism, domestic violence, depression, homosexuality, sexual promiscuity, and suicide.  Blanche DuBois’s story touches on every one of these items throughout the play.  Despite her many struggles, Blanche perseveres and can rise above her circumstances. Her strength and resilience are evident in the way she faces her fears and ultimately finds peace. Blanche continuously attempted to keep up appearances in her own way by losing touch with reality.  Mental health is a slippery slope if it is not addressed.  Her story has been told and retold for generations, and her legacy continues to encourage people all over the world to deal with the inner demons that plague mental health.

Desire is an inspiring soap of our mental state in the world we all live in today. Blanche DuBois was a complex and vibrant mix, just like the colors chosen for Desire; white, red, orange, and gold, . The white symbolizes her strength and resilience, as she was able to overcome her struggles and find success. The red reminds us of the passion and determination she had for life, even in the darkest of times. The orange symbolizes her optimism and hope, while the gold is a reminder of her grace and sophistication. Together, these colors represent the many facets of Blanche’s life, from her struggles. Her life story has been told and retold for generations, and her legacy will continue to live on forever.

Despite the hardships she faced in life, and her attempts to overcome adversity while believing there is beauty somewhere in the world. Just like a beautiful blend of peach, apple, and magnolia, Blanche DuBois was a complex mix of beauty and strength. Her story serves as a reminder that, no matter how difficult life can be, there is always good if you believe.

Blanche DuBois is an inspiring reminder that no matter how difficult life can be, there is always potential for redemption. Her story and legacy are a testament to the power of the human spirit, and her courage and determination are a reminder that anything is possible if we dare to pursue our dreams. So, why not let Blanche’s story be an inspiration in your own life? Let her legacy live on and purchase a beautiful blend of peach, apple, and magnolia, or soap in the colors of white, red, orange, and purple, as a reminder that anything is possible if we have the courage to pursue our dreams.
